They Called Me Mustafa

They Called Me Mustafa

By Khachadoor Pilibosian, coauthored and edited by Helene Pilibosian

This memoir of an immigrant tells the story of Khachadoor, who arrived in Massachusetts in 1920 after escaping the Armenian Genocide.

During the horror of 1915, young Khachadoor was kidnapped by a Kurd and taken to the mountains of Kurdistan, where he was forced to live as a slave until he escaped four years later.

Once in America, Khachadoor worked at a variety of jobs and was involved in a variety of Armenian community organizations.

This book also includes the English translations of some of Khachadoor's poems and stories.
