In The Land of Blood & Tears, SC

In the Land of Blood & Tears

From 1899 to 1922, Jakob Kunzler, a Swiss missionary and his wife Elizabeth, worked in a mission hospital in Urfa, today S.E. Turkey. He saw at close hand how the Young Turk war regime carried out Genocide against Ottoman Armenians.

During his vacation at home in Basel in 1919-1920, he wrote down his experiences. His disturbing report is a unique document.

This book is edited with a preface by Ara Ghazarians, Forword by Vahakn N. Dadrian and Introduction by Hanz-Lukas Kieser, editor of the 1999 German edition.
