A Pioneer in the Euphrates Valley

A Pioneer in the Euphrates Val

By Ruth A. Parmelee

Ruth Parmelee was an American medical missionary in Turkish Armenia during World War I. This booklet is her recollection of that period, especially the Armenian Genocide and the various efforts by foreigners to save the victims.

It is a modest commentary which complements her earlier accounts from the time. Her testimony joins other eye-witness reports on the Armenian Genocide in the Harpoot (Kharpert) region and is part of the growing body of primary accounts on the Armenian Genocide published today.
